Your details, and what we do with them.

01Who we are

SIN-OBS runs Meta ads, landing pages and lead follow-up for service businesses. We are the party responsible for the information collected through sin-obs.com.

We are based in South Africa, so the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) applies to how we handle your information wherever you are.

02What we collect

• When you ask for a teardown: your business website and your email address. The page also records which trade page you sent it from (for example dental or roofing). The form doesn't ask for your name or phone number.
• When you email us: your email address and whatever you choose to write.
• On your own device: the site remembers that you've answered the "what's your trade?" question so it doesn't ask again. This is kept in your browser only (local storage) and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes it.
• Technical logs: like every website, our host records technical details when a page loads, such as your IP address and browser type. We use these only to keep the site running and secure.

We don't use cookies, analytics tools, advertising pixels or any other tracking on sin-obs.com.

03Why we use it

• To prepare the teardown you asked for and email it to the address you gave.
• To reply to you, and to follow up about the teardown. If you'd rather we didn't, reply "stop" and we won't contact you again.
• If you become a client, to deliver the service and keep the records the law requires.

We don't sell, rent or trade your details, and we don't add you to a newsletter.

04Who else handles it

We use a small number of services to run the site and our email. They handle your information on our behalf and under their own data-protection terms:

• Netlify (United States): hosts sin-obs.com and stores what you send through the form.
• Zoho Mail: hosts our hello@sin-obs.com inbox, so it holds any email you send us.
• Brevo (France): the service we use to send replies to website enquiries.
• Google Fonts (United States): supplies the typefaces on this site. Your browser connects to Google to load them, so Google sees your IP address.

We share your information with no one else, unless the law requires us to.

05Information sent outside South Africa

The services above store information outside South Africa, in the United States, the European Union and other countries where they run data centres. We use them because the site and our email can't work without them, and each is bound by data-protection terms that protect your information.

06How long we keep it

• Teardown requests and emails: deleted 12 months after our last contact if we don't end up working together. Sooner if you ask.
• Clients: for as long as we work together, and afterwards only what the law requires us to keep, such as invoices for tax.
• Technical logs: kept by our host for a short period under its own policies.

07Your rights

You can ask us:

• what information we hold about you;
• to correct it if it's wrong;
• to delete it;
• to stop contacting you.

08Keeping it safe

The site only loads over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Only SIN-OBS can see what you send through the form. Our security settings stop other websites from loading scripts into our pages.

09Children

sin-obs.com is for businesses. It isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

10Changes

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
