We design it on paper, price it line by line, and build it with our own crew. You see exactly what you're getting before a single plant goes in.
Example prices. Yours comes from the design visit, in writing.
Including if you're only looking at ideas. Most people are, the first time.
An hour at your home. How you want to use the space, what you'd keep, what the light and drainage are doing. Nothing is decided.
A scaled plan of the whole yard and a line-by-line quote. You can see where every path, bed and light goes before you agree to anything.
Our own crew, not subcontractors, on dates you get in writing. The person who designed it checks it at every stage.
Four reasons people live with a yard they don't use. None of them is a reason not to ask.
It can be done in stages. The drawing shows the whole yard, and we can build the patio this year and the planting next. You choose the order, and you see every number first.
Most people don't. That's what the design visit is for: we ask how you'd like to spend an evening out there, and draw from that.
A typical build is four to six weeks, and we clear up every evening. You'll know the start and finish dates before we start.
We plant for your soil and your light, not for the photo. Anything we plant that doesn't take in its first year, we replace.
Owen founded Fernwood and still draws every design himself. He walks the yard with you, prices the plan, and checks the build at every stage.
The crew is his own. Nobody turns up at your house who he hasn't worked beside.
